Working in MS Excel


What is MS Excel?
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program, it helps users to work operations with numbers organized in a grid.
Excel is useful for doing from simple sums to very complex calculations.
Microsoft Excel has automatic functions and formulas that make work much easier, there are sum and other arithmetic operations, also you can create your own formulas.

Important info about Excel...
The "small squares" made by rows and columns are called "cells", every cell has a different name formed by the letter of the column, and the number of the row. Looks like rows and columns never end because there are so many. 
The type of files Excel creates are called "books" a book can have one or more "sheets"
The extension for excel books are .xlsx

Class Activity
Part 1
1. Review Excel contents and have fun with Kahoot!
2. Find Ms Excel in your computer and try the row and columns settings. Change sizes and look at the cell address box when change cell location. Check the spreadsheets tabs on the Excel book.


Second Class Activity
Part 2
1. Follow teachers instructions and create your own Excel class schedule
